Ms. Sherry Morian, President

Ms. Sherry Morian, President of QES, has 16 years experience working with engineering companies that provide services to Federal, State and Local agencies as well as to commercial entities.  She provides the overall management of the company including contract management and negotiation, fiscal responsibility, financial reporting, asset allocation, employee management, marketing, pricing and Federal Acquisition Regulation compliance.  In addition she serves as the project manager for construction inspection contracts and Maintenance & Protection of Traffic Contracts. Ms. Morian serves as the National Chairperson for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Committee for the Transportation Research Board. She is also a member of the Nevada Department of Transportation/Associated General Contractors Liaison Committee and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation/Associated Pennsylvania Constructors Safety Committee.

 

Mr. Dennis Morian, P.E.

Mr. Dennis Morian, Director of Engineering for QES, is in his twenty eighth year of highway/transportation related experience. Since leaving the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation after 20 years of service, he worked on a variety of large-scale federal projects before co-founding QES in 1997.  He is well known for providing workable and practical solutions to complex problems utilizing the latest in technology advances.  Because of his extensive state agency experience he often serves as a liaison between state agency personnel and consultant/contractors to resolve issues and provide win-win solutions. He has also provided engineering expertise to contractors for privatized maintenance, and risk assessment for those interested in design-build, warranty provisions, and other innovative contract techniques.

In addition, he has made numerous presentations on a multitude of topics around the United States, including design-build, pavement design, rehabilitation, maintenance, quality control/quality assurance, and for the Federal Highway Administration Long Term Pavement Performance project.  He has also made numerous TRB presentations and taught design-build short courses at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and pavement courses at the University of Nevada, Reno.

 

Mr. Douglas Frith, P.E.

Mr. Douglas Frith, Senior Engineer for QES, has 15 years experience in engineering.  He has a broad background in pavement engineering and technology transfer.  He has managed large-scale federal projects and has developed and performed nationwide training in the area of pavement distress. Mr. Frith received a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Idaho with emphasis in pavement materials.  He has contributed to the success of two of the largest pavement research studies performed including the Long Term Pavement Performance Study (LTPP) and the WesTrack Performance Related Specification and Superpave study.  His expertise in performance data collection and materials testing is unparalleled.  He has performed pavement designs and analyses on airfields, highways, ports and local roads.

 Mr. Frith has designed technology transfer materials and instructed multiple technical training courses for international, federal, local and private organizations.  In addition, he has instructed both undergraduate and graduate level courses at the University of Nevada, Reno.
