Text Box: Project Summary: QES is the pavement consultant dealing primarily with the collection of pavement performance data for all 58,000 miles of state highways for prime contractor, Parsons-Brinckerhoff, developer of a comprehensive asset inventory management system for the Virginia DOT. Additional roles played by QES in the project; technical consultant for systems development and evaluation, development of standard procedures for conducting work, development of a rigorous quality control/quality assurance program, and development and implementation of a technician training program. System development and data analysis is also provided for 45,000 miles of secondary roads. During actual production work, QES provides quality assurance review of all data collection systems as well as data collected. QES developed and implements a detailed training program to train both VDOT and subcontractor personnel in the application of pavement distress rating and definition processes. Training has been conducted on three separate occasions.
